How to make: Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax, cocoa butter, and fractionated coconut oil until fully liquefied. Stir with a wooden craft stick. Remove from heat and mix in the remaining ingredients. Pour into empty lip balm tubes or pots and allow to set. This recipe yields about six pots/tubes.

This combination allows you to indulge in both a detoxifying soak and a bubbly bath. What a fantastic way to unwind! Here’s what you need; click here for step-by-step instructions.
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder or cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil (or substitute with another light, moisturizing oil like apricot kernel oil)
- 8 drops orange essential oil
- 8 drops patchouli essential oil
- 3 drops clove essential oil
- 2 tablespoons SLSA
- 1-2 teaspoons witch hazel
- <1 teaspoon (a few sprays) of rubbing alcohol
To use: Scoop about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of bubbling bath salts into the tub under running hot water for a regular-sized tub. For a large whirlpool-style tub, use 1/2 to 1 cup. Agitate the water with your hand to help dissolve the Epsom salt and create larger bubbles. Please exercise caution when entering and exiting the tub, as the oils may cause the surface to be slippery.
9. “Fall Retreat” Bath Bomb with Essential Oils
How to Make (For the full recipe, click here for detailed instructions with step-by-step photos and tips):
- To a glass mixing bowl, add:
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- Then mix well
Add wet ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon apricot kernel oil
- 7 drops orange essential oil
- 7 drops cedarwood essential oil
- 2 drops ginger essential oil
- A few sprays of witch hazel
- A few sprays of rubbing alcohol
Mix until the consistency resembles damp (not wet) sand. It should hold its shape when squeezed but crumble when dropped into the bowl. To form the bath bomb, loosely fill each half of the mold with the mixture, then press the halves together. Unmold after a gentle tap with a spoon if needed, and let the bombs dry on a soft surface like a clean towel or bubble wrap.

13. “Warm Chai” Exfoliating Essential Oil Soap
This 3-ingredient melt & pour soap is incredibly easy to make and is excellent for your skin. It moisturizes and softens while poppy seeds gently exfoliate. Here’s how to make it:
- Cut 1 pound of melt & pour soap into small pieces.
- Microwave the soap in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval.
- Continue until completely melted without any chunks remaining (total time may vary between 60-90 seconds).
- Allow soap to cool slightly (this helps keep the poppy seeds suspended in the soap).
- Add essential oils and mix well:
- 15 drops cardamom essential oil
- 5 drops cinnamon essential oil
- 5 drops clove essential oil
- 5 drops ginger essential oil
- Add 2 tablespoons poppy seeds and mix thoroughly.
- Pour into silicone molds.
- Spray the tops of the soap with 91% rubbing alcohol to achieve a smooth finish and prevent sweating.
- Let cool and solidify completely before removing from molds.
14. “Gingerbread” Nourishing Dry Body Oil
Creating dry body oils infused with essential oils is one of my favorite activities! This particular blend hydrates the skin like a body butter while feeling silky and light. Plus, it smells just like gingerbread! Combine the following in a glass bowl or measuring cup:
- 1/4 cup fractionated coconut oil
- 1/2 cup apricot kernel oil
- 2 tablespoons rice bran oil
- 2 tablespoons safflower oil
- 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 30 drops ginger essential oil
- 10 drops cinnamon essential oil
- 10 drops clove essential oil
- 10 drops nutmeg essential oil
Carefully pour the mixture into an 8-ounce glass spray bottle. To use: After showering or bathing, pat your skin dry, then apply this nourishing dry body oil to your arms and legs. It absorbs quickly, leaving a smooth finish.
Tip: To prevent slippery bathroom floors, apply the oil to your hands first, then rub it into your skin.
15. “Autumn Breeze” Perfume
Making your own essential oil perfume is a breeze! With just a couple of ingredients and a bit of time, you can create a personalized fragrance. Here’s how:
- Add the following essential oils to a 4-ounce glass spray bottle:
- 25 drops orange essential oil
- 25 drops patchouli essential oil
- 10 drops clove essential oil
Mix the essential oils together, then add 4 ounces of vodka. Seal the bottle and shake well. Store it in a cool, dark place for several days (or up to a few weeks) to allow the scent to develop fully. This resting period helps the alcohol scent fade while intensifying the fragrance of the essential oils.
