The Creative Chaos of Christmas Crafting
Never underestimate the imaginative power of a child! In the wonderful world of crafting, however, glitter tends to spill, and every parent knows that nothing can create quite the mess like glitter. As the proud mom of twins—a charming little boy and a beautiful little girl—I’ve learned that when their creative spirit ignites, there’s no stopping them. This year, they decided to embark on a delightful project: making Christmas cards for our entire family. And what’s a festive card without a touch of glittery magic?
To my pleasant surprise, the Christmas card crafting session turned out to be a resounding success, even if my living room transformed into a sparkling wonderland. Glitter found its way onto every surface imaginable, including the backsides of my little ones! Fortunately, as I enjoyed my morning coffee, I stumbled upon an article filled with cleaning hacks that revealed how to efficiently remove glitter from various surfaces. I took this as a divine sign for the tasks that lay ahead.
Actually, there’s no need to panic when you see glitter twinkling everywhere in your living room. All you need for its removal are a vacuum cleaner and some Play-Doh.
First, The Vacuum Hack…
The first step in my cleanup strategy was to thoroughly vacuum the entire area. After that, I moistened a paper towel to gather the scattered sparkles into one spot.
…Then I Used Play-Doh
Next, I took some Play-Doh and kneaded it over the glitter puddle. Since there were larger star-shaped glitter pieces mixed in, I had to gently dab at those. The regular-sized glitter lifted off effortlessly with minimal effort. Plus, your kids will end up with a fun, sparkling putty that will surely make them smile!
For Stubborn Small Glitter Sparks…
For any particularly stubborn small glitter particles that remained, I pulled out a lint roller. Simply glide a standard lint roller over the troublesome glitter, and it will capture any lingering bits, leaving your living room as clean as can be!
