Speed Cleaning Tips for Your Bathroom: Quick and Effective Methods

Looking for an efficient way to clean your bathroom? Discover how to speed clean your bathroom in just minutes with these fantastic tips! Recently, I conducted a poll on Facebook to see which room people find the most challenging to clean, and the bathroom topped the list. I completely understand why. Cleaning a toilet, especially when you have young kids or boys of any age, is not the most enjoyable task. I used to procrastinate cleaning the bathroom, letting it linger on my to-do list far longer than necessary.

Since you can’t avoid this essential chore forever, I suggest adopting a speed cleaning approach. Just dive in and cross that task off your list! I recommend speed cleaning your bathroom once a week to keep the job manageable and quick. Below, I’ve compiled some of my favorite tips for the quickest and most effective way to clean a bathroom.

Speed Clean A Bathroom

Start by organizing all your cleaning supplies in one accessible spot. I’ve found that if I can easily grab my cleaning gear, I can save precious minutes. Keep all your necessary supplies in a handy caddy so you can effortlessly move from bathroom to bathroom. Here’s what I recommend having in your cleaning caddy:

  • Microfiber cloths or paper towels (I highly recommend this brand of microfiber cloths)
  • Glass cleaner (I make my own homemade version)
  • Toilet cleaner
  • Sink and shower cleaner (this easy-to-make all-purpose spray is a game changer)
  • Magic eraser

Getting Started

Once you’ve gathered your cleaning caddy, the first step is to apply some toilet cleaner inside the toilet bowl and let it soak for a while. By starting with the toilet cleaner, you allow it to work its magic while you clean the rest of the bathroom.

Tackling the Mirrors and Sinks

Next, spray the mirrors with your glass cleaner and wipe them down with a microfiber cloth. I love using my homemade glass cleaner recipe, which you can find here—it works wonders without the harsh chemicals found in commercial cleaners.

After the mirrors are sparkling, turn your attention to the sinks. Spray them with a disinfecting cleaner to eliminate any germs. I often use an all-purpose spray or a simple mixture of lemon and vinegar for bathroom cleaning. It’s a gentle cleaner with a refreshing scent. Once the sinks are sprayed, wipe them down with a microfiber cloth.

Move On To The Shower/Bath

Then, head over to the shower or bathtub and give them a thorough spray with your disinfecting cleaner. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe everything down, and if necessary, do a bit of scrubbing with a magic eraser.

I recently purchased an OXO scrubber, which is a lifesaver for my back when cleaning the showers and baths. I typically use the magic eraser on the shower floor and around the tub to tackle any buildup or hard water stains.

Finish With The Toilets

Finally, return to the toilets for a detailed clean. Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush and flush. To avoid keeping the toilet brush in the caddy (which I find a bit unsanitary), I use a hook to hang them on the side of each toilet. I absolutely love these rubber toilet brushes; I’ve been using the same ones for 6-7 years, and they’ve proven to be incredibly durable!

After scrubbing the bowl, spray the lid and rim of the toilet with disinfectant and wipe it down. While I prefer using paper towels for the toilet since they can be a bit messier, you can also opt for a microfiber cloth if that’s your preference.

And there you have it! You’re done! Speed cleaning a bathroom is so straightforward! For me, this method allows me to clean our large bathroom in about 10 minutes, and even less time for the smaller ones. In total, I can clean all three bathrooms in under 20 minutes. If you’re weary of constant cleaning, give this simple technique a try to speed clean your bathroom in mere minutes.
