The Ultimate Guide to Cleaning Your Luxurious Jetted Bathtub

The Joy of My Luxurious Bathtub

I absolutely adore my bathtub! It’s not just any tub; it’s a spacious and deep haven equipped with soothing Jacuzzi jets that provide an incredible relaxation experience. After a long and tiring day at work, I look forward to unwinding in this little sanctuary. I simply run the hot water, step into the tub, and with the push of a button, I’m enveloped in a blissful hot tub experience. I take great pride in this magnificent bathroom feature!

However, there’s one aspect I overlooked when I invested in this extraordinary jetted tub: the cleaning process is significantly more challenging than that of a standard bathtub. Just think about it—cleaning those hard water deposits that accumulate in the jetted tubes can be quite a nuisance! Not to mention, they can become breeding grounds for mold due to the humid environment, and no one wants to soak in water filled with mold spores. Therefore, I decided it was high time to give my fabulous jetted bathtub a thorough cleaning to remove both the mold and the stubborn hard water deposits. Since I prefer to avoid harsh chemicals, I tackled this intensive cleaning task using simple household items.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Cleaning rag
  • An old toothbrush

Step-by-Step Cleaning Instructions:

  • Start by cleaning the main surfaces of your tub with baking soda. I love using baking soda as a natural cleaning agent because it’s just abrasive enough to tackle mold and soap scum without scratching the tub’s surface.
  • Sprinkle baking soda generously all over the tub and begin scrubbing with a rag or sponge. Pay special attention to the waterline, faucet, and drain area, and take your time before rinsing the baking soda away.
  • Next, focus on cleaning the tub jets. While it might be difficult to see deep into the jets, you can effectively clean around the outside with an old toothbrush. Most Jacuzzi jets can be twisted to adjust water pressure, making it easy for mildew to accumulate between the jets and the surrounding area.
  • Loosen the jets as much as you can to allow for thorough scrubbing behind them with your toothbrush.
  • Without rinsing away the baking soda, fill the tub with enough water to submerge the jets.
  • Add three cups of vinegar to the water and turn on the jets. Let them run for at least three minutes, or longer if you notice any debris floating in the water.

If you discover a significant amount of build-up in your pipes, you may need to repeat this process multiple times until the pipes are completely clean.
