Instructions for Making the Christmas Cookie Sugar Scrub
Yield: One 8-ounce jar
Step 1: Measure the Coconut Oil
Add 1/4 cup of organic extra virgin coconut oil to a heat-safe bowl or measuring cup. Note: Use coconut oil that is solid at room temperature. Look for a product that is cold-pressed and unrefined to retain its beneficial anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties.
Step 2: Melt the Coconut Oil
To melt the coconut oil, you can either use the microwave or the double boiler method. Tip: For the double boiler method, fill a pot with about 2 inches of water and heat it to a simmer over medium heat. Place the heat-safe bowl with the coconut oil into the pot, stirring occasionally until it is completely melted. Remove from heat.
Step 3: Add Vanilla Oleoresin
Once the coconut oil cools slightly, add 30 drops of vanilla oleoresin and stir to combine.
Step 4: Incorporate Sugar
Add 1 cup of sugar to the coconut oil and vanilla mixture.
Step 5: Mix in Sprinkles
Add 1 tablespoon of red and green nonpareil sprinkles.
Step 6: Combine Thoroughly
Stir well to ensure all ingredients are mixed evenly.
Step 7: Jar the Scrub
Scoop the mixture into an 8-ounce jar.
Step 8: Final Touches
